It's nice to meet you! It's a privilege that you are considering me for your therapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping teens and young adults suffering from depression and anxiety pursue peace through therapy.
SCROLL FOR MORE ABOUT ME
Having been in practice for 11 years, I have discovered my passion for helping teens
(12-18) in their hardest seasons. Using CBT and talk-therapy, I aim to help them gain insight into who they are and confront the challenges keeping them from becoming who they want to be.
I find a lot of joy working with young adults (18-30). A lot of stress, change, disappointment, victory, loss, and excitement exist almost simultaneously during those ages, so much so that it can become overwhelming. Through a strengths-based perspective, I strive to help them navigate these experiences.
As a Christian myself, I can provide a faith-based perspective should a client desire the therapeutic process to be viewed through that lens. This perspective is grounded in truths derived from the Bible and can involve the teachings of Jesus and prayer.
Disclaimer: this perspective is only offered if requested by the client.

When I'm not in the office, you can probably find me hanging out with my husband, Kurt, and our two kids, Leo and Ari, at the dog park with our insanely cute dogs, Malcolm and Rue. Other things I enjoy doing: spending time with our friends over a good meal, traveling internationally, and binge-watching Netflix (in moderation, of course). I love being on-the-go but also enjoy getting lost in the adventure of a well-written work of fiction. Music plays a huge role in my life and I travel on the side with my twin sister leading worship.
"I feel like I've made good progress when it comes to understanding my emotions and being able to look at things more positively. I actually looked forward to our meetings because it was the one time I could talk about anything on my mind and there was always someone to listen. I was challenged to get out of my shell and talk to people and try to make some friends. It was incredibly hard at first because I was so used to being by myself with myself. But with these meetings I was able to push past whatever fears I had, and I do have a few friends now.
Overall I think she taught me not to worry so much, to try my hardest, and that it's okay to feel something as long as you understand why you feel that way."

"Kellie was super encouraging to work with. She took time to listen and understand where I was coming from while also adding valuable input and insight. She helped me name some of the emotions and feelings I had been experiencing for a while. I am thankful that we were able to work through past trauma as well as current life events. She has been a huge help in my transition out of college into the working world."

"I’m not sure where I should start when it comes to Mrs. Kellie. When I first met her I didn’t think our relationship would be where it is now. She makes her clients feel so safe and comfortable with opening up and letting her help us get to where we need to be. At the beginning of working together, I was very closed off. It was so hard for me to answer questions about why I felt the way I did, when was the start of these emotions, etc. Mrs. Kellie was patient with me and slowly tapped at the wall I built around myself and eventually it came falling down. The way she connected with me made it so easy for both of us to get things done. Outside of her practice she is an excellent person. She lights up the room with her smile and I thank her for that."

"My experience with Kellie has been amazing. I came in constantly worrying about my future and if I’ll get into college. She helped me break down the problems I was having and sort the pieces to create the best result for me. It truly has been life changing receiving the help she has been able to provide because I’m able to learn and better myself from an outside perspective instead of just using my judgement on everything."

"Working with Mrs. Kellie is the highlight of my week. More than a counselor or a therapist, she's a friend. Very reliable and respected, I can always count on her to help put words to whatever I can't explain or to let me have a safe and quiet space to just be. Love her so much!"

"I've known Kellie for almost 2 years now and as I am about to embark on my journey to adulthood, I've never felt more prepared because of her. We have worked on attachment issues, self-esteem, setting realistic expectations, and overall problems that I know other teens face today. If you choose to work with Kellie, I promise you will not be disappointed."
